Summer Is Over!

Well summer is officially over. I base this on the fact that Pumpkin Spice stuff is hitting the shelves. To me that is the ultimate sign that summer is over and that fall is here.
Let me be clear I am not a big fan of pumpkin spiced things. I will try things with it but it is not a favorite of mine. Jennifer liked some pumpkin spice things. She absolutely loved pumpkin pie stuffing. She could skin a pumpkin pie crust like a fisherman filets a fish. She loved the stuffing but not the crust. Something I never really understood/grasped. However she could peel that filling off the crust so it was as clean as a whistle.
I am starting to try and get my stuff organized to make my trip back South. I always leave here with more than I come with. The car will be riding a little lower going home. I always make some online purchases while I am up here. This is to take advantage of the no sales tax. Last summer a couple of my purchases showed up after I left, so I have those to pack as well.
Yesterday, Mom decided she was not up to going to the funeral. I think she was a little tired from our Helena trip the day before. I decided to go play some Pickleball before the service. Got a couple of games in and then changed and went to the service. It was a nice service and I got to see my friend Ron and his family. Also my friend CD was there and we sat together. At the luncheon I got to have a nice visit with Mom’s neighbors John and Terri Kump and their kids Charlie and Dixie.
After the luncheon, I ran a couple of errands and then swung by the golf course and was able to play 9 holes on the regulation course. That was fun. I had my tunes playing and played multiple balls. So technically I played at least 18 holes. Next week I am going to play the Old Works course in Anaconda the day before I go home. There were three young boys playing ahead of me and I caught up to them and they let me thru. I asked them if they were out enjoying their last days of freedom and they laughed and said yes they were.
Both Colleen and Cindy are back to work. Cindy started yesterday and Colleen started today. I think the boys start school tomorrow. So yet another sign that summer is over.
I already am starting to fill my schedule for when I get back to Mesquite. I am going to be hosting a man that is running for Mesquite City Council for friends and neighbors to ask questions and listen to what the man would like to try and accomplish if elected to the council. That will be about a week or so after I get home. So that is going to force me to get my house back in order. That is probably not a bad thing, won’t allow me to procrastinate.
Well I better sign off for now. I have a few things I want to get done outside and it looks like we might get some rain. So I better get moving.
