Holy Cat Woman

There are some people that are just plain nuts. The couple that climbed the Empire State Building yesterday are certainly in the top 1% of the nut pile. The way they were casually climbing around the tip top of the building and hanging that banner. Then climbing down to a platform so the guy could apparently propose to his gal and climbing partner in the Cat Woman mask.

Does anyone know if Attica has a honeymoon suite?

For the past couple of years I have been talking about how crazy this world has become and that if you were a author and had made up stories about some of the things going on, that you would never be taken seriously and would be laughed right out of a publishers office.

I don’t know if any of you have watched Henry Winkler’s series “Hazardous History” on the history channel, but he did a piece on Human Fly’s. Back in the early 1900’s as sky scrapers were starting to become a thing, there were people who would climb buildings as a novelty act, kind of like barnstormers . Some building owners would actually pay these people to climb their buildings as a way to hype business etc. They did this until these human fly’s started falling off their buildings and splatting on the sidewalks/streets. I guess splattered fly did not generate the press they were hoping for. Although everyone there was there to see just that.

I guess everyone has to find some kind of hobby/activity to get the old dopamine flowing. Climbing over 102 stories in the New York Skyline would not be mine. These folks were so nonchalant as they scampered around up there. It had to be windy and they had to be sweaty so getting a grip on handholds had to be tricky. Yet they were like monkeys in a tree. The list of charges they were facing were substantial so will be interesting to see what happens. It may be a while before the wedding can take place. I wonder if a invite to that one will be harder to get than the Swift/Kelsee shindig at Madison Square Gardens.

Also how much these idiots cost the citizens of New York for their little escapade was in the $100,000 plus range according to the talking heads on TV. That is staggering.

As most of you know Butte is the home of Evel Knievel. He was the king nut of his generation. The stuff he dreamed up and stunts he attempted were nuts for his day. However what people are doing now days make his stuff look like kids play. However, you know the vast majority of his viewing audiences were there to see him wreck for their viewing entertainment. Not much different than the gladiators in Rome.

They actually made a documentary movie about Evel called “Evel Knievel The Last of the Gladiators”. The thing with Evel was that he was certainly a showman/con artist. The PT Barnum of his day. He knew how to rile up the crowds and get them on the edge of their seats. However one thing about him was that he would do what he said he was going to do or die trying. God knows how many shots of Wild Turkey he took before some of those stunts, but by god he did it and certainly paid the price over the years doing it.

Now let’s keep in mind the people doing this stuff today are using equipment that is light years ahead of what Evel was using. He was basically jumping with a tank. These bikes today are lite and have actual suspension systems.

Anyway, I got on a Evel tangent. Let’s get back to the Russian couple that climbed the Empire State Building. That dude better hang on to that gal, you are not going to find many women that are going to do what that Cat Woman did. Even if you have to wait 10-20 to get hitched. They should have climbed the US Capital building, they might have gotten compensated for that.

The world just crazier and keeps on turning.
