Yesterday marked three years since Jennifer departed this earth. I still have occasional flashbacks to that day and they are not fun!
Fortunately this year the Galbavy’s came over on Thursday and we knocked off a bunch of projects that we had on our list to get done over the weekend. This kept me from having time to dwell on this. Don’t get me wrong I think about her every day and some days I get to dwell on it too much and feel sorry for myself. I can get a little mopey. So staying active helps me not get that way.
On Thursday, Colleen was able to score so some Town Talk Bakery donuts and was able to get some of Jennifer’s favorites, Maple Bars. So yesterday morning I was the first person up and I was able to have a Maple Bar and a cup of coffee by myself and hoist them in her honor. It made the day a little easier. She would have enjoyed that Maple Bar.
This summer has been a Smokey summer. We have been getting hammered with smoke from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. I feel like I have breathed in at least one lodgepole pine a day. I am hoping I can cut back, but that is unlikely for the foreseeable future as unfortunately it is probably going to continue or even get worse before it is going to get better. Things have really dried out around here so the fire danger is getting higher and higher I don’t know when they have any rain forecasted.
At least we are not in Spokane, those poor people. If the guy that supposedly set those fires is guilty. They should just hang the bastard and be done with it. It is just horrible how he changed so many peoples lives.
The smoke has been tough on Mom. She is already on Oxygen and she said she it is affecting her stability/balance. So she has been hanging pretty low and staying in the house. Colleen and her were going to go to a funeral for one of their neighbors on Friday, but she just did not feel up to it. We all would have went, but we needed to get our projects knocked out because this is about the only weekend that Chad and Cindy had to be able to work on them. School will be starting again before we know it and Heath has varsity soccer practices starting this coming Friday.
On the 12th Jennifer and I would have been celebrating 37 years of marriage. I don’t know what I will be doing. Elaine and Jim are considering heading back to Las Vegas a little earlier than planned because of the smoke. They said if they are going to be stuck inside they mise well go back home where they can stay inside a hell of a lot cheaper! I can’t blame them.
I think Dad would have been pretty happy with most of the projects we got done this weekend. A couple were on his list of things he wanted done and a couple were not. Anyway we got them done. There are many more on the list and we will get to them eventually, the list is never ending.
Jennifer’s departure is still very surreal to me and I miss her horribly, but at least she does not have to be here for this damn Trump bullshit. I just pray to God that the mid-terms go the way we hope they are going to go. I am so fed up with the orange pile of shit.
Well enough for today. Need to get ready to hear what lies Chettolini is going to tell us today.
