The Martian

The night before last I started watching the movie “The Martian”. Both Jennnifer and I loved the book that the movie was based on and we both liked the movie as well. The book in my opinion has the best and shortest opening line that I have ever read. I won’t spoil it for anyone that has not read the book. Matt Damon did a great job in this movie, but the book is better. I did not watch the whole movie last night because it started at 9:00 pm and was on until after midnight. I needed to get to bed as I have a busy day ahead of me today.

Jennifer was more of a series and sitcom watcher but she had a few movies that if they were on TV she would have to watch. Twister, Finding Forrester, Stargate, The Martian were ones at the top of her list. I always found the Twister one the funniest of her favorites.

She loved the series “Castle”, especially the early seasons of it. She did not care for the later years of it, but she would still watch it. She purchased many seasons of it on DVD so she could watch it when she wanted. She was funny she could watch things over and over. She was that way with MASH as well.

I am praying for all of the folks in Spokane that have lost their homes. We have several family members in the Spokane area. So far all of them are OK as far as we know. We are still waiting to her about Chad’s brother home. Their neighborhood was evacuated, but we don’t yet know if their home was impacted. Cindy and Chad stopped here yesterday on their way home from Missoula to pickup their snowmobile trailer. They are going to haul some steel siding that we are going to start installing on the garage building here at the ranch. They had been in Missoula for a celebration of Chad’s Mom’s 80th Birthday. Chads brother and family had just arrived and had to leave the celebration early to head back to the Spokane area because they had recieved notification their neighborhood was being evacuated.
