Travel

Jennifer and I were blessed to get to travel a fair bit during our time together. We also got to travel a fair bit for work. There were still a lot of places that we were planning to visit. Primarily in the US, but if the world was not so crazy we probably would have done a few other international trips as well.

This morning one of the places Jennifer was really wanting and looking forward to visiting was on CBS Sunday morning. That place was Big Sur, California. She really wanted to travel up the West Coast. I certainly hope to do that at some point. The shots on the piece this morning was beautiful. It was just a short clip as they went to commercial break, but it was beautiful.

I will do some traveling again at some point, don’t know when that is, but I will do it. In the meantime I have the memories that Jennifer and I made visiting all the places we got to go. There was another piece on CBS Sunday Morning that brought up memories of a couple trips we to took to Florida. The piece was on Sand Dollars. We took a couple of trips to Sanibel Island and we would find lots of sand dollars (living and dead) as well as all kinds of pretty sea shells. We found some decent sized sand dollars, but boy they are fragile unless you treat them with glue. Anyway, that piece brought back good memories of finding them.

Last night I met up with Elaine and Jim, Jeanne and Rob and The Walters family for pizza at Silver Bow Pizza. We were all surprised that the Pizza has improved greatly since our last visit there. The last time we went it was not good. Last night was very good. In Jennifer’s memory I ordered a Canadian Bacon with black olive thin crust pizza. That was her favorite and I grew to like it as well. Last nights was very good. It was good to see Kate, Sam, Lydia and Teddy. The kids are sure growing fast.

It is another Smokey day here. Lots of fires are popping up around the state. Fortunately the Big Gulch fire (one behind us) seems to have stayed out. Last night the smoke was very thick in town when I first got there, but had diminished some when we got done eating.

Today the smoke is rolling in and out. It was pretty thick early this morning, but cleared up a little for about 2 hours. Now it is getting pretty thick again.

Well I better get a move on and do something productive. I need to finish cleaning up from the breakfast I cooked. I made bacon, eggs and pancakes (with fruit in them) on the blackstone grill. I just need to put the grill away. Hopefully the smoke will diminish so I can mow the yard this afternoon. I can relive the travel memories while I am mowing the grass. Mowing makes me really appreciate my zero landscape yard in Mesquite.
