Marijuana & Pain Killers

As crappy as this situation is, we are trying to find some humor in all of this as well. We have had several good laughs the last couple of days about Jennifer taking marijuana gummies and pain medication.

Neither of us have ever touched Marijuana (we have both been around it and people who did consume it frequently) but we never personally consumed (and that not just us taking the Bill Clinton defense), it is the honest to God's truth. In high school and College, we just never had the desire to try it. When we got in the working world, we were in the drug testing programs and damn it we liked having a paycheck.

Of course, she sent me to the dispensary to do the deed of buying the stuff. So, I guess I am her main squeeze, enforce and drug supplier. That was an experience in itself.

I have to admit I did have a tinge of concern, as I pulled into the parking lot of the place that I would be seen by someone we know, so I thought about parking away from the building and hiking up to the place, but the 108 degree temp made me rethink that and I told myself, this is for the love of my life, so screw it, I will park by the door.

I proudly marched into the place which is huge and ended up having to stand in line to get processed. That place is a fricking gold mine! I was lucky there were only three people in front of me. The line was quickly growing as I went thru the processing process. There were 5 people behind me, and the line was growing. This was at 2:00 pm on a Thursday.

For those marijuana buying virgins like me, the process is that you have to give them your Driver's License, they then photograph you and then ask if you are a loyalty club member and then you can get in and shop.

Now I will tell you I would have a hard time working there. The whole place has that skunky smell to it, but it is a marijuana consumers heaven. They have all the accoutrements (pipes of every size and complexity, bongs, wrapping papers. lighters, grinders, etc.) and all these fancy display cases with the various products laid out. If you want rolled joints, they have those. You want raw bud they have that.

Once you have determined what you want then you proceed thru a maze similar to going to the check in counter at the airport. Then you go the next available checker. The place has like 25 registers (It's not like Walmart, no self-serve checkouts). Then you tell the checker what you want, and they have the whole back wall full of the various products and they go pull what you want and then they have these real fancy sealing bags that they put your product in. All in all, it is a well-oiled machine that is raking in money as fast as they can grow it.

Just in case you are curious it was $25 for a bag of 10 gummies. Then a ton of taxes that were tacked on.

Lastly this is the first time that Jennifer has ever taken any real pain killers. So, she said she can now check that off the bucket list.

Anyway, it has made us chuckle between the periods of tears.
