Blue Tsunami!

Well the people have spoken and they sent a message in a much larger fashion than I was anticipating. I was really afraid it was going to be a small blue ripple. However, my pessimistic thinking was wrong and for that I am thankful. I actually have hope that our democracy is not dead. However that hope is heavily guarded.

With that being said, I just pray that the Democrats roll up their sleeves and work more on legislating vs revenge. If they do not this country is doomed. That being said they do need to conduct oversight and hold administration members (especially DOJ and Defense) including the President accountable. I have watched interviews with several of the new senators and house members (Talarico, el-sayed, etc.) and I am pretty encouraged by their statements.

We need more centralists and less far wing legislators. I have said this many times. The far right and the far left are the same wolves just in different sheep clothing. So the Democrats are going to keep the far left members of the party at bay. Certainly they need to work with them, but they need to do so constructively. I just wish I had more faith in the Democratic leadership. I have little faith in Schumer and Jefferies.

The amount of blatant corruption in this administration is unacceptable. Every administration I don’t care what party it is has corruption in it. However the Trump administration has been so blatantly corrupt it is almost unimaginable. So the legislators need to work on shoring up the guardrails to oversee and stomp the corruption.

I do feel they really need to look at Supreme Court reform as well. The corruption within the court is horrible. Especially by the conservative members of the Court. These positions should no longer be lifelong positions. Also the nomination process for justices needs to be fixed. The legislative branch should not be able to hold the court hostage as Mitch McConnell did for 400+ days. Those games need to end (in my opinion).

I found it very interesting that the first appearance by Cheetolini after his parties ass kicking was to talk about his ball room and other pet projects. I really would have loved to hear him say the election “was like nothing we have ever seen”. For once that would have been a true statement coming out of his mouth. I also enjoyed his crawfishing on because he was not on the ballot is why they lost all of the races they did.

It was not all roses. Both the candidates I was supporting for Mesquite City Council lost their races. I personally felt both candidates were much more qualified to hold the position than the winners are. Time will tell but I am forecasting more lawsuits in the future for the city.

Also my home state of Montana had a partial victory. The did elect a democrat for one of it Congressional members, but elected another Trump puppet for one of its Senators. Sadly there was a lots of games played in that particular race.

Overall though the election was a Tsunami. I was shocked but pleased with the Texas elections. The fact that the voters sent Ken Paxton and Greg Abbott packing gives me a little Hope. The fact that Abbott got beat by a Latina woman, is huge and something I personally thought would only happen when hell froze over. So good to see both the Latinos and progressive voters flex their muscles. Jennifer would have been so happy about that. I can hear here cheering about that in my head. There would have been tears coming out of her eyes, but they would have been happy tears.

Jennifer would be so happy about this ass kicking Tsunami. If it had gone the other way or the way I was fearing she would have been crushed.

Well enough for today. I have to get ready to go have a meeting with reps from the Mesquite Library and City Parks and Recreation department to propose a partnership with them and our Rotary Club to build a permanent Story Trail here in Mesquite.

What the orange cockroach doesn’t get is that if he had been on the ballot, he would have lost, too!
