Where Does The Buck Stop!

Harry Truman had the infamous sign on his desk that the buck stops here. Well I guess that no longer applies to the Presidency. Trump post about the O’Bama’s was disgusting and the fact that they are saying some staffer posted it is such BS. The SOB is a racist no matter how you cut it.

Yesterday I was driving down to Las Vegas and had the radio on the comedy channel and there was a comic on that asked the question that was doing a bit about being in trouble and he asked the question. Have you ever been in so much trouble that you had to win the presidency to get out of it? That really made me laugh, but almost made me cry, because that is what the world has come to. What just literally blows my mind that some poll (which I put as much trust in as drinking tap water from some third world country) indicated that 71% of the Republican Party still have favorable approval of Trumps performance. I don’t know what they are smoking but I want some because they have got to be out of their fricking minds. The comedian’s bit was one I could here Jennifer laughing as I was listening to it, she would have busted a gut.

I went to Vegas for a District Rotary Polio fundraiser, it was at the Chicken and Pickle facility in Henderson. It was a nice event, unfortunately attendance was light, but scheduling it on Super Bowl weekend was not a very smart decision. Anyway it was a nice event.

This past week I had several memories of things Jennifer and I had done during our lives together and I often wonder if that was all just a dream and now I am awake and here without her. It is a very surreal feeling.

I am going to Super Bowl gathering at my friends Kim and Bills house this afternoon. I decided to bring some of Jennifer’s and my favorite snacks. I made two versions of a Fiesta Ranch dip that she liked to make. One is the mild version (one she liked) and one is a spicer version (one I liked). Then I made pepperoni rolls, this is the first time I have actually made them. She always made them. As I was making them I could hear her critiquing my efforts. They turned out ok, so I give myself a B+, she would probably grade me a little harder, and I heard some “God damn it Joe” as I was assembling them, but oh well.

It is always a little disturbing when I get out her recipes that she had handwritten out. Just seeing her writing always tugs at my heart. Our filing system for recipes is more than a little unorganized. We had gotten a book called “Where is My Mom Now that I Need Her”. It was wedding shower gift from my Mom’s good friend JoAnn Olds. Anyway the book is in a binder and that binder has plastic pockets on the side and she would put her favorite/most used recipes in there. Some of the recipes are on index cards, some are on scraps of paper. So it is a mish-mash, but it was our mish-mash and it worked for us.

Well I better get moving and get ready for the big game. I am pulling for the Seahawks for a variety of reasons, but high on the list is that the owner of the Seahawks is a woman who is not a Trump supporter. Bob Kraft on the other hand is a Trump cronie and pervert with his own Epstein type behaviors (remeber the Florida massage parlor incident) and hope the Seahawks smoke the Patriots.
