Well Crap!

I am extremely disappointed this morning. The installation of the backsplash in our kitchen is not going to get done before I need to head to Butte.

I tell you this country is in the crapper, and we are swirling further down the bowl. The lack of integrity in this country today is just sickening. No one lives up to their commitments anymore, it truly is sad. I was getting confirmation e-mails and texts as late as yesterday afternoon that the installers would be here between 8-10 this morning. Then last night at 8:30 pm I get a text from the installer saying that he needs to delay the start of the job until Tuesday.

Well, that was not going to work as we are leaving for Butte, early Wednesday morning. The install is a two-day job. I don't want it rushed and I want it done right and I have commitments and issues that I need to get to Butte for. Jennifer agonized over picking this stuff out, it will be done right or there will be hell to pay.

Anyway, I have it rescheduled for mid-October. Now if I was the only one that was having this kind of problem my opinion on the status of this country might be different., but pretty much every single person that I know who is having some kind of home improvement work done by a contractor is running into these types of issues and worse. It really is sad. You simply cannot rely on anyone anymore (large company's or small ma and pop businesses).

Anyway, it is not the end of the world and truly is a first world problem, but I do feel like I am letting her down, which pisses me off. But the world will keep on turning and we will get through it. I am pretty sure it's not the first time I probably let her down, but I sure as hell don't intend to make a habit of it.
