Yesterday was a fairly uneventful day. Did some insurance paperwork/phone calls. Of course, that is always a frustration. If the clowns in the government really cared about the American people, they would clean the health care mess up along with education and the myriad of other important issues that affect this country. But instead, both are hell bent on fighting with each other to see what dirt they can uncover on each other. Anyway, enough on that, I don't have the answers other than we all need to be evaluating who we vote for much closer

I did go watch the Mesquite Senior Games Bocce tournament for a little bit. The folks who played in that yesterday were real troopers. They started around 8:30 am and did not finish until around 5:15 pm last night. That is a lot of Bocce.

Today I will be working on another Rotary project that our club is going to conduct on Veterans Day. It is a story walk. A story walk is way for readers of all ages to enjoy a story and the outdoors at the same time. Pages from a children’s picture type book are displayed on posts along an outdoor path in a park or along trails and sidewalks to create an interactive storytelling experience. As they stroll down the trail, they are directed to the next page in the story. This will be a free event for children and their families to attend. We will have some voluntary contests during/after the walk and kids that partake in those will be entered into a drawing for small prizes.

Our Book sale committee (who is in charge of organizing this event) are going to do a preparatory walk of the trail (that we have laid out on paper) this morning to see how we intend to set up the walk and try to identify challenges/issues/concerns that we may encounter during the event.

Ideally, we would not host this on Veterans Day, but it was about the only weekend that we could fit it in. We are going to be sandwiched in between the local Veterans Day Parade and a Sock hop Dance event that the city is holding that evening at the local recreation center. Our club is excited about this upcoming event and we hope to make it an annual event depending on how the participation is in this inaugural year. However, it does take a bit of effort to organize and plan this event, especially with a small number of folks. But we will get it done.

I better get my butt out the door to meet to walk and prep.
