Still Catching Myself!

It has been over two years since Jennifer passed and I still catch myself thinking that I have to tell her things when I get home. I still walk in the door and expect her to be sitting at the kitchen table and I would be fillling her in on whatever I may have experienced or saw. There has been several instances the past couple of weeks that I have had this feeling. It just really sucks when I realize that is not going to happen. Sometimes it gets me choked up and sometimes I just cuss about it.
In some ways I hope it does not go away, because I still go through the exercise of telling her in my head and trying to think how she would have reacted. Would she laugh, would she just say uh uh, would she cuss.
It has been another busy week of activities. Next week is also looking like it will be busy. My friend Randy came over and helped me get the grill I won put together. It only took about 4.5 hours to complete. I fired it up the night before last to season it, but have not cooked anything on it just yet. The smoker/grill is not a pellet type like I originally thought it was. It uses charcoal but it feeds itself. It does have a cool app that I can use to monitor how the grill is operating and I can raise or lower the temps on the app. It also has probes that will monitor the temps of the meats I am cooking.
Today I sat at a Rotary table at the Library for a community resource event that they were holding. It was well attended and there were lots of activities for kids. One thing that struck me was the number of uncommunicative/autistic kids there are in this community. There was a large number of kids that the parents had to do all the communicating for them.
One of the activities they had was a face painting booth. There was one lady doing this and all I can say is she is amazing how detailed she was but also how fast she was. Some of these kids had very detailed faces with stars and flowers and stripes etc. Overall it was a very cool event and I was happy to see that it was well attended. We gave out a fair number of book marks, stickers, pencils and other little doo-dads as well as packets of cookies. It was a pretty warm day, but not unbearable.
Tonight the good Lord is putting on quite a light show. It is kind of cool because part of the area is clear sky’s but off to the east we have a impressive lightning storm occurring. This is like the third night that this has happened. I am sitting on my patio watching it. Temperature wise it is beautiful.
I got home in time to watch a little football. I caught some of both the Bobcat and Grizzly games. The Bobcats won pretty handily. The Griz for the second week in a row kept viewers on the edge of their seats. This week was not quite as dramatic as last week, They opened up a pretty good lead in the 4th quarter. The weather was definitely nicer in Missoula than it was in Bozeman.
After the games I called my folks and they said that it had been raining there all day, but that it had not snowed yet. That may change tonight.
Well enough for tonight, I think I will hit the rack early. I did not sleep well last night and woke up around 3:30. Plus sitting in a hot parking lot for most of the day really took it out of me.
