Sore Thumbs

Got up and did a few house preparation things early this morning. Then went to Bocce. We got our butt kicked in the first game 12-0 but we rebounded and won the final two games. Both of those games were nip and tuck the whole way.
After Bocce I followed Dorothy and Andy home in my golf cart and picked up some golf clubs that Dorothy had bought at a garage sale, but were in need of having the grips replaced. Dorothy had some grips that were on order and scheduled to arrive today.
I took the clubs home and started the process of getting the old grips and grip tape off the shafts. They were Calloway Solaris clubs and the glue was a bugger getting it off the shafts, but I got out Jennifers hair dryer and that helped loosen it up a bit, but it was tough sledding and both my thumbs are a little tender tonight from rolling the softened glue tape off the shafts. While I was working on them they had stickers with the date the clubs were made. Most of the clubs were constructed on Jennifer's and my Anniversary (August 12) in 2010.
I took a little break to meet our friend Sheri for a quick round of putting on the community 18 hole putting green. Sheri also graciously agreed to babysit my plants while I am gone to Montana so after we finished putting I ran home grabbed them and brought them up to Sheri's house. Just as I was turning into our Subdivision, Dorothy called and said the new grips arrived, so I turned around and ran to their house and picked them up. I still had 5 clubs to get glue off, so I grabbed a quick bite and finished getting the glue off those and then started putting the new grips on. Finished them up and ran them back to Dorothy and Andy's house.
I had my tunes on while I was working on the clubs. I was listening to Satellite radio (Classic Rewind) and many songs of my youth were playing. Kills me they are considered "classics". It is funny how songs can trigger memories from my youth so that was fun as I was rolling the glue off the clubs and helped take my mind off how much my thumbs were hurting.
Tomorrow morning I am going to play golf with my friend Randy. I probably should be focusing on stuff at the house, but screw it I am going to get one more round in before I head to snow country. I will work on that stuff when I get home.
Well enough for today, time to hit the hay.
