Small World

Yesterday was another busy Rotary day. We had our weekly meeting in the morning, then we worked on Story Walk prep and then our monthly used book sale. I squeezed some Pickleball in late yesterday afternoon.
Our Whittier grade school librarian Mrs Marian Fagan came and worked the sale with me from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It was a very slow sale day. Actually the only customer we had on our shift was Marian. However Marian and I had a real nice visit during our shift. Marian's son Jay was a classmate of Jennifer and I's at Whittier. It is interesting how small the world can be sometimes.
Then Marian and her husband John treated me to a nice lunch at their home. They live on the 18th hole of the Casablanca golf course and have a beautiful view of the course out their back door. We had a nice lunch and visit and I enjoyed viewing some of their beautiful Bronze sculptures. They have a beautiful coffe table in their living room that has a bronze Grizzly Bear statue in it. My nephews Heath and Case would have loved that table. Their son Jay played football for the Grizzlies.
Wednesday afternoon I treated myself to a Indian Food lunch. Jennifer was not a big fan of Indian food, so she probably would have not partaken if she was with me. There was a St George based Indian Food Truck at the local liquor store parking lot. I had seen some posts on Nextdoor from folks saying how good it was. So I decided to give it a try and I am sure glad I did. I had their Lamb Masala and Garlic Naan bread. It was delicious. I hope they become a regular in town, because I will certainly go back if they do.
Today I have need to start working on getting ready to head to Montana for the holidays. I am probably going to ship a box of stuff up so I need to get that gathered up and packed and ready for shipment. I also need to do a little house cleaning and need to change my smoke alarm batteries and install new air filters. I almost had to turn on the heat in this morning, but opted for a sweatshirt instead. We were in the low 40's this morning. So it was a little cooler than normal in the house.
Well I better get a move on.
