Tonight we attended that annual “changing of the leadership dinner” for the Butte Rotary club. Club members were asked to go around the room and intoduce themselves and their guests. When this happened it brought back a funny memory that Jennifer would mercilessly tease my dad about.

Several years ago we had attended a Rotary dinner with my folks. If I remember correctly it was a Christmas dinner (but it might have been this dinner) anyway the time came for my Dad to introduce his guests. He introduced my mom and the he said I also have my son Joe! and his wife. Instead of my son and daughter -in-law Joe and Jennifer. It was just my son Joe and his wife. Jennifer teased him about that for quite a while. So tonight when he introduced me that was all I could think about. It made me chuckle and I know she was looking down chuckling too.

The dinner was at the Butte Country Club and I happened to run into Anne Martin in the bar. Anne was Jennifer’s maid of honor at our wedding. She is in the women’s golf league at the club and tonight was league night. It was nice running into her and having a short visit with her.

It was a nice dinner and I think the folks had a good time seeing everyone. Well it is time to hit the hay.
