Well we are about to start the road trip to Butte. As I mentioned Jennifer was a list maker and we have a checklist for getting the house ready and one for the things we needed to take on the particular trip we were about to embark on. Thankfully there is a app for doing this. We found this app when we bought our travel trailer and it has been a nice little tool.
So I have gone through the checklists and created a new one for this trip over the past several days. Hopefully that means I have not forgotten something, but my track record would say otherwise, but I have the stuff I really need anything I may have forgotten I will just roll with it.
Fortunately Jennifer will travel pretty much as she always did, asleep. As I mentioned yesterday she was a power sleeper and when we got in the car for trips she was usually asleep with in the first hour of the trip. She would occasionally awake and look at me and ask if I was OK. When I replied in the affirmative she would usually nod back off, that clean conscious of hers allowed her to do that.
Other than short trips Jennifer always needed to ride in the front of the vehicle otherwise she would get car sick. One time, while we're still dating we took a trip to Whitefish, MT with my Mom and Dad and my sister Cindy. Now Jennifer never really mentioned that she got car sick. No one in my family had car sickness issues, so none of us even thought about it.
Anyway we are driving down the road. Me, my sister and Jennifer are in the back seat and my sister is sitting in the middle (because she had the littlest rear end). So we are about 2 hours into the trip and Jennifer was being pretty quiet and then my sister looks at and asks Jennifer if she is Ok because she was looking a little green. After the fact, Jennifer said it took everything she had to not up chuck on the spot. Anyway she finally tells us that she gets car sick when riding in the back seat. So we pull over and reassign seats. Fortunately this was in the winter so it was nice and cold outside so during the readjustment Jennifer was able to suck in some cool air and we got to Whitefish fine.
This trip was one of those time share condo things. So Jennifer and my parents went to the mandatory presentation to get the rooms covered and my sister and I went to ski the slopes on Big Mountain. Well after the presentation, Jennifer and my folks skied the bars in Whitefish. Her nose got a little numb on that trip. Over the years we had several laughs about that trip.
Anyway, she will be riding in the backseat today, but we won't have to worry about her getting carsick. I know I am probably going to hell for saying that. I know she would laugh about it, she always got my strange sense of humor.
Anyway it's Butte America or bust.
Safe travels. Don
Will be so happy when you get here. Smooth roads. Love Mom
