My heart goes out to President Jimmy Carter on the loss of his wife Rosalynn. I just read part of his response to his Rosalynn's passing which was “Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished,” President Carter said in a statement. “She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.”
Reading this response brought me to tears. While Jennifer and I did not have 77 years of marriage. That is totally how Jennifer and I were. We were equal partners in everything we did and she provided me so much guidance and encouragement over the 34 years we were blessed to have and she always loved and supported me.
From what I understand Mrs Carter was suffering from dementia, so I am sure that the past few years were very tough for both of them. While I certainly did not have to contend with losing Jennifer in that way, I still lost her and so I know some of his pain.
I know his health is not good and that he is on hospice care himself and I pray and hope that President Carter he has a peaceful transition and see's his Rosalynn again. You cannot argue that the Carter's were genuine good human beings and lived their faith through their actions.
God speed to Rosalynn and my condolences to President Carter.
