Wednesday was a good day. I got one last round of golf in before heading North. My friend Randy made us some killer breakfast burritos (He used to own a Burrito shop in the Denver area). We had a good time playing and I was overall pleased with how I played other than my putting sucked. We had a beautiful weather day.
Then I got home and went up to Boccee courts to meet Margot/Allen and Dorothy/Andy and a childhood friend of Margot's and her husband who are in town for a visit. I also dropped my mailbox key off to Margot, so she can grab my mail while I am up North.
Then I went and played in the afternoon Pickleball round robin. I came home and grabbed a quick bite and did a few things around the house.
Yesterday I had a Zoom Rotary meeting, so was able to go to Bocce for a little bit, but I had to leave early to swing by my estate lawyers office to finalize my revised estate documents and then headed back home to finish my preps to head North. Then went up and got a few games of Pickleball in.
This morning started early. I woke up at 1:30 and could not go back to sleep, so I just got up and finished up my house prep. Andy came and picked me up at 3:45 and got me up to St George to catch my flight. I cannot thank Andy enough for doing that. I really really appreciated it. I am checked in and waiting to board.
It was weird getting the house ready without her. Made me realized all of the things she normally handled, but thankfully we had a checklist that we had developed so that made it a little easier.
Hopefully, I have packed all of the stuff I need.
Well I just realized what I did not pack. My noise canceling ear phones. Unfortunately, there is a annoying young guy talking on his cell phone in speaker mode in what I believe is Arabic. It's for sure not English or Spanish. I don't believe this guy can talk quiet. So all of us get to sit here and listen to his gibberish and that of his wife/girlfriend. Thankfully I have my bone conducting ear phones so I can deaden it some, but still have to listen to it.
Jeanne and Rob are picking me up in Butte and giving me a ride out to the ranch. I also got word that our headstone has been installed, so maybe they will run me by so I can put my own eyeballs on it and to give her a little kiss.
Once again, I am so blessed to have friends and family who are helping me navigate this new road I find myself on. So while this Holiday season will be a difficult and very different one, I have so much to truly be Thankful for. While this has shaken me to the core, I still have faith that the Lord has a plan and I guess he figures I am strong enough to carry the burden he has placed on me. As much as it hurts me I still thank him everyday for ending her pain and taking her from me quickly.
