Little Kid Laughter

Jennifer loved holding babies and she loved listening to little kid laughter. Today at Teddy’s 6th Birthday party there was a lot of little kid laughter. She would have really enjoyed the party today.

Tornado Teddy is the nickname I have given Teddy. He is a whirlwind of activity (especially when he gets a little sugar in him). His little cousin Alice is also a pistol. I think she was a little overwhelmed these past couple of days with all the foreign/strange (to her) people that were wanting to hold her. At one point she had broken free and was running across Pat’s front yard laughing hysterically. Jennifer would have absolutely loved to hear that laughter.

Ted was comical opening his presents. The look of sheer joy on his face when he opened each present was just precious. He loved everything he got and he made quite a haul.

The auction prep continued today. Today we got rid of the Model “A” ford that has been in the barn for my whole life. My Dad had agreed to sell that a while back to a family friend. Until Monday there was a pile of junk in front of the car so the friend said when he got the pile of stuff removed he would come get it. Well today was the day. It was amazing all four tires were totally deflated and have been as long as I can remember. Well today, we put some air in them and all four held air. The friend had four small dolly’s that we put in on to get it angled to come out of its old hiding spot and the we pushed it out the door. He has a nice tilt car hauler trailer with a winch and we winched it on. Below is a photo of it once we got it out the barn door, before going on the trailer. This made me a little late for Ted’s party, but I made it.

After the party I got home and the auction guys were finishing up for the day. They got a good bit of the horse barn mucked out and a lot of the stuff for the auction moved over to the space opened up from the removal of the Model “A”.

After they left, Cindy and the boys and I mucked out a bunch of scrap iron that was in a front corner of the barn.

We had some neighbors stop by for a visit tonight. Tomorrow is Dad’s rotary day and my Mom is having a some friends out for lunch. So another busy day tomorrow.

I am whipped tonight, not so much from the work, it has just been a emotional day. I had a good cry on the drive home from the party, just because I knew Jennifer would have enjoyed it so much. She would have so much like seeing Hannah, Cody and Alice. She did get to see and briefly hold Alice when she was a baby. In fact I believe she was the last baby she got to hold. I was also happy that I was able to give Hannah her Teddy Bear.

Anyway it was a good but emotional day.
