It is Beginning To Look A Bit More Like Christmas

Well we woke up to about a inch of snow this morning and it snowed probably another while we were eating breakfast. I made us some Bacon, Eggs and Toast this morning. That seemed like a good winter morning breakfast (it was). The heated mat worked well and then I shoveled off the remainder of the walk and then went and got the plow truck out and plowed the yard.
For my first time running the plow truck, I think I did OK, my grandfather would probably say otherwise but we can drive in the yard with no problem so I am calling it good. I am sure I will get more chances to practice in the coming days and weeks.
We are getting geared up for the Grizzly game tonight. The play Furman in the quarterfinal round of the FCS playoffs. So we will see how it goes. Hopefully the home field, altitude and weather will play into the Grizzlies hand.
I did a lot better today with my acceptance of Jennifer's passing. It is really hard to explain the feelings I had been having with this but today was better.
Something I have been delinquent in doing is thanking people who have been reading my blog. It is humbling that many of you are daily readers of my ramblings and belly aching Please know that I do appreciate it. This writing has been strangely and immensely helpful in coming to terms with her passing.
I do have a task that I need to get working on, I just have not been able to bring myself to do it. That task is the writing of the Sologub family Christmas letter. Several years ago Jennifer and I started a little family tradition where we wrote, what Jennifer and I felt was a humorous Christmas letter on the Sologub families activities for the year, the rest of the family's opinion was mixed. Those whose appearance in the letter was minimal felt it was funny, those who had a significant appearance not so much.
The first years reaction was pretty priceless and we got the reactions we were hoping for. We actually mailed the letters the first year and just waited for the reactions to come in. In subsequent years we just e-mailed it. We wrote it so that it appeared it went out to all of our friends and family (It did not). Anyway, we started getting phone calls a few days after we mailed them and we had some good laughs.
Jennifer would compile a list of things that occurred during the year on her phone. Then I would take the list and put the first draft together and then she would edit it and then we would e-mail it out. Her phone has the list thru July and I need to sit down and start working on it. It is something I know she would want me to continue. I just need to suck it up and get it done.
Today marks four months since she departed, that is hard to fathom and just shows how quickly time passes.
Well enough therapy for today, I have to get ready to watch the Griz game and drink my 8th Advent Calendar beer.
