I Just Have Not Felt Like Writing

I have not posted for a few days. I have been busy and frankly I have just not felt like writing.

I had a nice trip to Vegas to celebrate Elaine’s Birthday on Monday. Jim treated everyone to a nice dinner at Maggiano’s Italian restaurant. It was nice seeing everyone. Jennifer would have so enjoyed the day. It is still very surreal to me that she is not here to partake in these celebrations and breaks my heart.

This weekend I have been volunteering at the Mesquite Ballon festival that the Casablanca Casino hosts. Yesterday was a picture perfect day for ballooning. Today was not so much. A few balloons went up but not the balloon I have been helping. Our pilot was not liking the wind conditions and made the call to not go up. It is a fair bit of work to put one of these balloons up. Lots of lifting, pulling and pushing. However, it is pretty cool. They also have a nice tailgate type party after each days flight. So that is interesting.

The balloon I have been working with is out of Page, AZ and the folks are nice. It is interesting how each balloon owner has their own techniques/tricks for setting up and laying down and packing their balloons. Anyway it has been interesting. Also have had some interesting food and drinks at the tailgates. Got introduced to a interesting Irish Whisky called Shanky’s Whip. It is a dark whisky with kind of a coffee taste to it.

Tomorrow the Casablanca hosts a nice buffet breakfast after the flight so that should be fun.

I have been very frustrated and angered by the Orange Messiah’s first days in office. The blanket pardon is very concerning, especially for the Proud Boys and Oath keepers.

The jellyfish party (my new name for the GOP) continues to kiss his ass. There is not a backbone among them (thus my new name for them). I have said before I best get used to it because we got four long years (if we are lucky) of this bullshit. One jellyfish has already introduced a bill to allow him to have a third term.

Well enough for today, I want to sleep tonight and don’t need to get my blood pressure up.
