Well today I learned I can indeed chuckle and cry at the same time.
Today I needed to get gas and wash and vacuum my truck so I stopped at a local gas station to get this all done. After I gassed up and purchased my car wash, I went into the store to use the restroom. This was more of a preemptive pee, I just did not want to get out there vaccuming and then need to go. Anyway while I was in the restroom, I noticed they had a special going on for Jennifer's gas station wine.
Of course this started the old eyes to start leaking, but also made me a chuckle, because I know she would have jumped on the deal and stocked up on at least one little carton. No sense paying top dollar for gas station wine when you can get it at a discount.
If I could choke it down, I might have bought a carton, just for shits and giggles, but the stuff is just to sweet for me. Maybe I should have bought a carton and taken it out to the cemetery and poured it on her grave. Hell the cemetery was just down the street, but I did want the cemetery folks to think I was a fricking lunatic. Anyway, I figure she might have upped her drinking game when she crossed the pearly gates. Maybe she is up there sipping on Thunderbird or Wild Irish Rose. They both have to be better than the $3.49 stuff she was drinking here on gods green earth.
Anyway, I continued to chuckle as I vacuumed the truck and the water works stopped as I pondered on going in and buying a carton, but I was afraid I would run into someone I would know and my man card would have been pulled. If I was in Mesquite, I probably would have done it, but could not risk it in Butte, America.
This afternoon we drove to Boulder, MT and watched our nephew Heath run his last cross country meet for the season. Today's course was pretty hilly with lots of cactus and cow pies. In fact they had to chase a herd of bulls off the course before the kids ran. I guess they did not want to motivate the kids too much. Before they did that I told Heath, he did not nessicellary need to be the fastest but he damn sure did not want to be the slowest if those bulls were on the course. Heath ran a good race and finished fourth on his team and in about the middle of the pack for the overall event. We feel he did pretty good for his first year of running. I hope he continues to pursue it. He has always been a good runner and I think that now he knows the ropes he can improve. He is undecided at the moment so we will see what the next year brings.
Well I am going to call it a night.
