We had a very nice day yesterday. Everyone pitched in during the day with all of the activities. I was the breakfast cook. I cooked bacon and pancakes on my folks Blackstone grill on their patio. The conditions were a little challenging we had about 20 mile and hour winds and blowing snow. So I about froze my giblets off, but I got her done. I grabbed a quick bite and then jumped in the car and drive to town to get Dad for the day.
While I was doing the rest of the crew started prep work for the Thanksgiving feast. My nephew Case and his Auntie Colleen worked on the stuffing and ground up the giblets.
Case and his brother Heath, along with Auntie Colleen were the spud peelers and got the potatoes ready for mashed potatoes. All in all it was a wonderful feast.
had a few tough moments yesterday. The first was at the blessing. It took everything to not start sobbing. As I have said numerous times, Jennifer and I were not the most dedicated followers of our Catholic up bringing, but we did try and always say the blessing over our dinner meal. So that was a tough moment. My Dad added a nice recognition of Jennifer at the end of the blessing. After dinner we had a fun time playing some dominoes and then we had dessert. That again was a tough moment because it was Jennifer's favorite part of the meal.
There were not a extreme amount of dishes this year, so Jennifer would have had a light year. I am sure she was looking down and saying "What the Hell" the first time she was not here and the dishes were light.
Anyway I made it through. After dessert I drove Dad back to town and then came back home and Cindy, Chad, my mom and Chads mom Kathy and I played a game of Farkle. Then we called it a night.

Today I am sure we will work on the remains of the feast. Jennifer did like a good Turkey sandwich however it could only have mustard. Jennifer absolutely hated Mayonnaise.
I cannot count how many of her meals were ruined over years because Mayo got put on her meal (even though she was very clear when ordering no Mayo). If we were in a group and someone's order was going to get messed up, it was going to be Jennifer's. She finally figured out the best option was to just request Mayo on the side. So needless to say over the years a lot of Mayo got tossed, but at least it was not on her meal.
Before she figured that little trick out she would send it back. That usually just resulted in the cook just scrapping the Mayo off and sending it back out. That would really piss her off.
Anyway I was blessed to be with my family and I made it through the day. I hope all of you reading had a happy Thanksgiving as well.
Now the March to Christmas officially begins, although it seems like we have been doing it as soon as Halloween ended. Well enough for today.
