His New Wheels

Today was a good day. It finally warmed up and we got Dad out on his new scooter and more importantly we got him off safely.

I can’t thank everyone who made this possible enough!

This scooter was originally our Sister in law Rosie’s scooter. After Rosie passed away, Jennifer’s brother Mike gave it to their cousin Peggy Ann and Mike Walsh to use. Peggy Ann gave it to my Dad after Mike passed away thanks to Jeanne contacting Peggy about it.

I picked it up last December and we have been waiting for the weather to get nice enough for him to take it for a spin. Well today was that day! I can’t tell you how much it means to him to be able to get out and around the ranch.

He put in through its paces this afternoon. He took it up in the field and down into the corrals. Then he and I worked on a little project on one of his riding lawn mowers in the barn.

We needed to fabricate a gasket for the bagger that is on one of his mowers. Last week when Chad and I were cleaning up his yard the lack of this gasket was causing a lot of grass to not be caught and was blowing out on Chad. We fabricated one out of a old inner tube. We got it installed and I took it out for a test spin and it was working good.

All in all a good day.
