Today is Jennifer's brother Mike's Birthday. It was usually this time of year that we would have communication with Mike. Jennifer would contact him for his Birthday and he would usually contact her on her's which is on Monday (8th). I hope they and all her other passed family members are celebrating in heaven.
Yesterday was fairly busy. We went to Dad's Rotary meeting. They had to meet at a alternate venue (Perkins) this week because of funeral reception being held at their normal venue (Country Club). They celebrated one of their members (Dr Pattersons) 101st Birthday. Unfortunately Doc canceled coming at the last minute. He lives in a assisted living facility and they have a van that was bringing him to the meeting, but at the last minute he decided to stay at the facility. The weather was a little crappy (rainy/snowy/windy) so maybe that concerned him, so we celebrated without him. They had a nice cake. The Rotary District governor was present at the meeting and was the speaker for the meeting. Rotary is facing the same challenges here as they are in Nevada (shrinking membership) and clubs disbanding. There are 40 clubs in Montana. However they are losing two clubs.
Then I took Dad to Walmart which is synonymous to taking a kid to a candy store. However he got to drive around in the motorized cart, so that made him happy. However, he was limited by me on what he was alllowed to buy. That did not make him happy, but we both survived, it was slightly better than our Christmas outing to Three Bears.
We also got new Powerball tickets for the big Billion dollar jackpot. We had four tickets for the last one and only had one number on one ticket.
When we got home I went out in the yard and got my truck fired up and also scratched a few little ditches in the yard where we had puddled water from the melting snow and rain. It has been very windy so the yard is drying quickly and getting rid of the puddles helps. I am sure we will probably have a few more spring snowstorms before winter will be officially over, but it helps minimize the mud if we get the puddles gone.
We are seeing more and more birds showing up, so that is a sign that spring is here. No gophers yet but they will probably be poking their heads up any day.
Well I better get to doing something productive.
