Grilling In November In Elk Park

We brought Dad out to the ranch for the day again yesterday. We decided to grill up some steaks from the new beef they got this fall. It is not often in Elk Park that you get to grill in November without having to shovel snow to either get to the grill and/or shovel it so you have a place to put the grill. But this year we could. So we did.
It did kind of sprinkle snow all day, but just enough to dust the ground. However the wind was bitter cold. I was surprised that we did not have more accumulation this morning, but it still is just a dusting. I am not complaining just surprised. It is coming and will be here before we know it.
This year, the butchers cut the steaks very thick, so it took a little longer than normal to cook them, but they turned out tasty.
Was another day of watching football (with a little napping by the folks). Some friends of mt folks also stopped by for a short visit. I had a couple of bills to pay online so spent some time on the computer and Colleen ran to town to run some errands. So overall a very laid back day.
Earlier I had went out and checked the straps on our trailer cover before it got too nasty. So far they are pretty good and the cover seems to be holding up,pretty good, but it's real test is still coming.
As usual I thought of Jennifer a lot throughout the day. There is a Amazon commercial where there are three old ladies sitting at a park and watching kids sled down a hill and one old gal orders some butt cushions for the three of them and the next shot is them getting in a sled and sledding down the hill having a grand time and giggling away. It is a cute commercial (my dad really liked it) but it choked me up because it reminded me of the last Christmas we were here (2021) and she decided to take a sleigh ride (I believe I have written wrote about that before so won't bore you with the details again). Anyway, she was having the same type of joy those old gals were when she went down the hill. So another one of those instances where I chuckled and almost cried at the same time.
Well enough for today, let's see what today brings us.
Below is a picture of the steaks., it reminds me of that old beef council commercial "Beef, it's what's for dinner" jingle.
