Frustration

I am so frustrated with the people of this country. The canonization of Charlie Kirk is sickening. The sheep packed the stadium to canonize the man. I really don’t want to give the man anymore of my thoughts.

I condem the manner of his death, but I cannot believe how the GOP and their cult are trying to whitewash his legacy. I have heard so many pundits say the man did not have a racist bone in his body. He was just a good Christian man who found the lord his savior and preached to convince others that his way was the righteous way. Meanwhile he and his organization made many people’s lives a living hell (especially people of color).

My understanding that his racism goes all the way back to his high school days and when he did not get into West Point and that his supposed “spot” went to a person of color. I guess his misongany, and bigoted opinions followed all of that.

I have many friends that are amoung the sheep and that saddens me. I normally would say we will have to “agree to disagree”, but they are making it harder and harder for me to even agree to that. I am getting to the point I am just cutting these people out of my life. I don’t like being that way and that frustrates me.

Now don’t get me wrong, during my career I saw first hand the downside of what was called ”affirmative action”. When I was working we had a person in our organization that was fast tracked for promotions because of both their sex and skin color. The person was totally unqualified for pretty much every position they were promoted to. They did not last long in any of the positions and often times were pushed up to get them out of a supervisors hair and make the person someone else’s problem. Eventually the gravy train ended for both the person and the company. They terminated the person and that person responded by trying to file a class action suit against the company. Anyway, did I like it, no I did not, was I vocal about it, yes to a degree. However I largely grimacced and beared it knowing that every dog gets their day. Guess what they did, it took several years, but it ended.

Now I personally saw it work the other way as well. I saw women that should have been advanced or recognized for their contributions but were not because in my opinion they were women. Jennifer contended with some of this. She overcame it through hard work and her superior intellect. I advanced a slight bit faster than Jennifer and I can assure you it was because I was a male, it was not because I was smarter than Jennifer (I was not).

During our careers we did see the management landscape change, we did see qualified women advance to management positions, they began to chip away at and broke through the glass ceiling. I like to think that Jennifer was one of the women who helped lead this change and prove that women can pretty much do anything a man can do and lots of times even better.

I also saw a piece about the mountains of trash and debris that the crowd attending the funeral left outside the stadium. I am sure the people of Glendale loved that. The events security was equivalent to a Super Bowl. That is frustrating. However since the President and Vice President were there, it was warranted. However, in my opinion the folks at that service should have had to endure what our teachers and students have to deal with on a daily basis. The fear that some nut job is going to invade their space with weapons of mass destruction.

I saw some person say about the full unedited video of Mr Kirk’s assanination and how violent and bloody it was, imagine this being the children in any of the sites of the mass school shootings and how bad it has to be when their bodies are hit by these bullets. If that does not open your mind that we have to do something in this country about school shootings then nothing will.

I have seen snippets from some of the many people who spoke at the event and I am sickened and saddened by how our government is elevating this political activist to levels that are so undeserving. Oklahoma is trying to make sure schools have Charlie Kirk memorials in them. Why don’t the focus on reading, writing and arithmetic. Categories that Oklahoma is lagging behind the majority of the country in.

His body should not have had a ride on Air Force 2, he should not have had a full military honor guard packing his corpse off the plane. We have many veterans that have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country that have not gotten the honors bestowed on this asshole.

This whole Jimmy Kimmel incident also frustrates me. This is totally unacceptable. You know it has to be bad when even old disappearing Ted Cruz speaks out about how this has gone down. That the FCC was acting like the mob.

I so miss not having Jennifer here to discuss all of this. However, I am also once again glad she is not here, because if the cancer had not gotten her, this just might have. She would have possibly stroked out because of all of this.

God help us all, I try to be optimistic about the future of our country, but events like this do not give me much hope. It just frustrates me more and that is not healthy. Well enough for today.
