Famine to Feast

The snow has finally showed up and it keeps on coming. So we have gone from famine to feast. We have been busy pushing snow around. I will be glad to get back to 60 degree snow free weather.

Chad, Cindy and the boys came over yesterday and it was a busy day of taking down Christmas decorations. We also did some work up in the hayloft of the barn.

The roof of the barn is due to be replaced, due to some damage from a hailstorm last year and the fact that roof is approaching 75 years old. A insurance appraiser came out last week to take a look at it and told us to go ahead and tarp off the hay. So we did that yesterday. Thankfully those boys youthful bodies were very helpful as they climbed up on the stacked bales and drug the tarps across. They got a little initiation of falling down into holes between bales so they were a little itchy going home with some hay in places that you don’t normally get hay in.

Last night we watched/listened to the Butte High vs Butte Central girls and boys basketball games. Unfortunately Central lost both varsity games. The poor girls really got trounced, the boys contest was a much more competitive game, but they also came out on the losing end.

All of Butte was celebrating last night as MSU’s Tommy Mellot (aka Touch Down Tommy) was awarded the Walter Payton Award for the 2024 season. This award goes to the most outstanding offense player in FCS football and is also based on off the field activities. By all accounts this is a much deserved award. Now we just have to wait until tomorrow to see if they can close out an undefeated season as they play North Dakota State in Frisco, TX tomorrow evening.

Well enough for today.
