Went and got Dad at about 10:30 am this morning. Got him home and started to getting him settled back in. Took him to Dairy Queen and got him a celebratory lunch. He really likes the $7 meal deal. I really think it is just to get the strawberry sundae.
Also I bought them a heated entrance mat for their Christmas gift. This will hopefully help provide a snow/ice free (when we finally get some) area for them to get in and out of the car. I also bought a remote that goes with it where it can be turned on and off from inside the house.
It looks like a nice Mat but it came rolled up real tight. Took me a bit to get the damn thing rolled out and I have been working on getting it to flatten out all day. I am using some bigger rocks on the corners. I have been warming it up for a couple of hours and then turning it off for a couple of hours and it seems to be getting a little flatter each time. Amazingly we were in the 40's today.
Tomorrow we have a appointment with his new primary physician (his old one retired) or at least kind of we are actually meeting with a Dr that is covering for his new primary who is on vacation, but we have to have the appointment so that we can get Home Health out here on Wednesday.
Also their furnace guy came out today to service their two furnaces. Luckily everything checked out good. So hopefully will be good to go if/when the below zero weather hits (and it will). Hopefully not as bad as last year. They had 50+ below with 74 below wind chills.
Hopefully the weather holds for a few more days. They have a picture window that is going to get changed out. Something he wants done. The current one has a broken seal so it gets frosty, but not terribly. Another thing I got out voted on in the family meeting earlier this year.
Oh well we will deal with it, but my empathy meter is pretty low these days, so he gets it with both barrels sometimes. I am trying to be understanding, but he does make it difficult at times.
Well enough for today.
