Yesterday I drove down to Boulder City, NV for a surprise Birthday celebration weekend for Elaine. Jim rented a very nice Airbnb home here in Boulder City. All of their kids and grandchildren were able to come in for the celebration. Fortunately everyone's flights made it, especially with a all of the canceled flights due to the severe weather across the country.

Jennifer would have been so excited about this weekend and would have so enjoyed seeing all of the Benner clan. These are the older nieces and nephews that I talked about a while back. Last night as everyone was sitting around visiting, I could (in my head) literally see and hear her taking part in the various conversations. She would have been having such a good time,. She would be telling me that her face hurt as we went to bed from all the laughs and smiles.

Ryan and Jake (Martha and Dwight's son) cooked up a nice fajitas dinner for us last night and then everyone sat and visited and then the time change difference started hitting the incoming travelers. Mike, Tara and Kelden came in from Indiana so they have a three hour difference to contend with and Martha, Dwight and Jake came in from Texas so they have a two hour time difference to contend with and I will be honest I am still getting adjusted to being back in the Pacific Time zone even though I have been back for over a week. I think Lilly and Bode were just getting their second wind when we all retired for the evening, but I guess that is what youth does for you it gives you energy to keep going.

Anyway I really appreciate Jim and Elaine inviting and including me in this weekends celebration, even though not having Jennifer here for it stings immensely, it is nice to see everyone and catch up on the things going on in their lives.

Well enough for today. Looking forward to a active day.
