I got to Big Sky Country Thursday evening and have been on the go since I have gotten here.

I have been doing a fair bit of yard work and still have a bunch to go. However, wacking away at it. Friday evening Colleen and I took the folks to town for a high school graduation party. It was a very large party. Four girls families got together and hosted the party. A couple of the girls had very large extended families. As such, it was packed. It was a very nice party. However, the only issue was it was also a very loud party, due to the large room and high ceilings (it was in a old train depot) so it was Tough for the older folks to hear. God only knows how many wrong interpretations of conversations occurred. I assure you there was quite a bit of that.

Yesterday afternoon, I took my Mom to Helena so we could watch Heath play soccer. He is playing on a spring/summer travel team. Most of the kids on his team are from the two Helena schools and he does not really care for most of the kids, but it has been a good experience for him. Yesterday they played a team from Frenchtown, MT. They are in the same high school class as East Helena so he will play against some of these kids again in the fall.

Yesterday he played defenseman for the first half and goalie in the second half. He had a good game until there was about 5 minutes left in the game. They scored kind of a fluke goal on him. The ball bounced in front of him and up over his head and he spun and jumped and tried to catch the ball before it crossed the goal line. He came down awkward and hurt his index finger. He had also kind of rolled on his ankle a few moments before this goal. So he pulled himself out of the game because he could not kick or throw the ball very well. I think his ego was a little bruised as well because of the fluke goal. Anyway it was a smart move on his part. The goal scored on him tied the game, but his team scored a goal right after he left the game and the held on for a 3-2 win. He had several good saves before he got hurt. He took a couple of hard hits when he was playing defenseman. So I am sure he is sore this morning.

Chad and Case were in Missoula, helping Chad’s mom with some things around her house. They also stopped to check out a small bus with a wheel chair lift that was for sale. Case is infactuated with buses, so he is in seventh Heaven looking for a bus. We are thinking if we could get a van/small bus (that does not require a CDL to operate) with a lift we could get the folks around easier. Anyway there was one for sale in Missoula. Unfortunately it was in rough shape so it was not the one. However the funny part about this is that the salesman did not know how to operate the wheel chair lift, so Case had to explain and show him how to operate it. It was about the only thing on the vehicle that was in good shape.

After the game Cindy, Heath, Mom and I went to dinner. We had a nice dinner and then Mom and I came home. Last night we saw lots of elk on the drive back. The coyotes were also serenading everyone last night when I was putting the car away, they were howling and yipping away.

Well hope to get some more yard work done this morning and then get my truck fired up and ready to use for the summer. I need to get the oil changed this week. I did not get that done before I left in January. I also want to get in to town to see Jeanne and Rob.

I am enjoying the cooler temps. Yesterday was in the 80’s and all the locals were saying how hot it was. They obviously don’t know heat. We have been in the mid-40’s in the mornings.

Well I better get to moving, the yard work is not going to do itself.
