Better Day Today

Today was a better day. I took my Mom to Anaconda for a doctor appointment. It was a nice sunny morning and we had a nice sunny drive over and back. Anaconda has no snow at it was 50 degrees when we left town. I told Mom I could have probably played a round at the Old Works golf course. It was that nice out.

Anaconda has a had a lot of changes since I was there last. Several new stores and new buildings. I think the last time we were there was for Art in the Park at Washoe park two years ago. Jennifer really liked going to that event and we had made several purchases there over the years. We also had some good memories made there with family. We enjoyed watching some of the nieces and nephews and cousins playing on the park playground equipment and some good laughs about that.

One of the last purchases we made was a little sign that we have in our half bath at the house. It says "Get Naked, Just kidding. This is a half bath. Don't make it weird." For whatever reason, that really tickled Jennifer's funny bone and she had to have it. Mom's doctors office is close to Washoe park and it made me think of our trips there and that sign. Of course we did not make it over there this summer which is too bad.

They have made a lot of progress on capping the slag piles from the smelter. It was strange to drive into town and not see the black mountains of slag. They are now covered with grass. I had done my Master's Thesis at Tech on that slag.

On our way back, we stopped and picked up some lunch for all of us in Butte and brought it home. It was in the 40's when we got home. The snow we do have is quickly melting. However they are forecasting that we may get some this weekend. So we will probably have a white Christmas.

It was nice having good memories today. Well enough for today.'s therapy.
