Another Packed Day

Today was yet another day packed with activities.

I went and played Pickleball this morning in the mixed doubles round robin. I played with the lady that I am going to play with in the Flat Top Mesa Challenge Pickleball tournament on October 26 and 27. We played 6 games. Again it was pretty toasty when we finished.

I came home grabbed a quick shower and then went down to the Mesquite Library and attended a event the Library hosts each year on various services that are available here in the community. They have food trucks and music and lots of kids activities. They also have a pop up book sale and I picked up a couple of cookbooks. One is a American Test Kitchen “Cooking for Two” cookbook and the other is a casserole and appetizer cook book. Each was only fifty cents.

While I was at the library I got a text about bowling. So came home and grabbed my bowling stuff and went down to the Virgin River Casino to bowl. Came home and then I am probably going to go meet part of the bowling group at the Casa Blanca Casino to see a band called the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies play. It is part of their ribbon cutting event on some updates they made in the Casino. I have not been there since coming back to Mesquite.

One nice thing about living in a small town is that you run into people you know. I like that. I saw several folks at the Library event. One set was Dave and Shelly Wulf. I got to see there granddaughter Marley and to meet their daughter and her husband. A very cute baby.

Dad made it home around 1:00 pm today and he is very happy to be home.

Jennifer like the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies. She like their song Zoot Suit Riot and bought that CD back in 1997. So I know she would have been happy to be going tonight. They are kind of a alternative jazz/rock band. I was never really fond of their music, but one of the compromises I made over the years.

I have not gotten to watch much football today. The Irish won big, The Griz rebounded and won. The Bobcats play later tonight. Looks like the Digger’s lost to Western Montana today.

Well I better do some things around the house before I head to the Casino, so enough for today.
