My Dad got out of the hospital yesterday. He is very happy to be home. Thank you to everyone for the thoughts and prayers. We all appreciate it.

This morning I saw a tourism add on Facebook for the Ennis and Pony MT area. This brought back a humorous memory from when Jennifer was coming over to visit me in Helena at Carroll College.

In 1985 Interstate 15 was shut down at my parents house to the Bernice MT exit so that the construction of the interstate Highway through the canyon north of my folks house could be completed and make the Interstate highway four lanes. So for Butte folks to get to Helena you had to reroute and go through the South Boulder Highway or go to Three Forks and then through Townsend MT to Helena.

Well Jennifer and our friend Jonel Spear Condra were riding together (Jonel was also going to Carroll at the time) and they got off the exit at Three Forks and they took a right instead of a left and before they knew it they were in Pony, MT. Of course this was the pre-cell phone era. So they stopped in Pony and Jennifer called her folks to find out which way they should go. Of course Jennifer’s dad gave her hell about it and we never did let her live that down.

Then the summer we got married her Aunt Helen and her took a weekend trip to Jackpot NV. They also took a wrong turn and almost ended up in Oregon instead of Montana. They added about a extra two hours to their trip before they figured out their error.

Anytime she was going somewhere by herself I was on pin and needles. She was always directionally challenged. She did not like to be teased about it, so I did it unmercifully.

Thankfully Cell phones and GPS came along and it really helped me feel better when she went somewhere by herself.

Anyway seeing that add this morning really made me chuckle and think about all the times we teased her about it, and all the excuses she would try to use to justify why they ended up in Pony!

Well enough for today.

I can’t believe how long it has been since I have sat down and written anything. I have been pretty busy and just have not had a chance...
