Tuesday was a day of ups and downs, but I stayed busy and made it through it. I played Bocce in the morning and Jennifer must have been with me as my team won all three of our matches (she was a better Bocce player than me). Then I came home and moped around the house for a bit. I then went up to our recreation center and attended a “Sun City Sounds” concert. The Sun City Sounds is the local community choir. Margot is a member as well as several other folks from our Bocce and Pickleball Clubs.
They sang a bunch of different songs from the 60’s and 70’s and it was a very nice concert. Jennifer would have really enjoyed it.
Then I came home and had a quick bite and met up with Dorothy and Andy, Margot and Allen down at the Casablanca Casino to listen to a band from Las Vegas called “High Octane”. They were a decent band and played a very wide genre of 80’s music. Jennifer would have enjoyed them as well.
On the way out I put $10 in a slot machine and I literally got down to my last pull and hit the bonus and ended up cashing out for $60. So again I felt Jennifer was with me.
Thursday I played Bocce and then came home got loaded up in my car and headed out for the District 5300 Assembly in Anaheim, CA. I drove to Barstow, CA and spent the night there and then got up early and drove into Anaheim to Disney Land. The assembly was at the Disney Land Hotel.
California is a state I have not spent a lot of time in. Jennifer and I spent some time in San Francisco when she attended a Industrial Hygiene Conference there. I flew up after the conference and we spent a weekend in San Francisco. We also flew into LA for a family wedding but flew in and flew out. So did not get to spend much time.
Well I will tell you I am not overly impressed after this visit. The traffic is crazy. Everything is way overpriced, the people are not that friendly and I swear 1/2 of California was coming to Nevada for the weekend. They drive like it is a NASCAR race. I about shit when I was leaving the hotel and pulled up to the parking lot attendant. She asked if I had attended the conference and I said yes and she took my ticket and said $40 please. I was like you got to be kidding me. I got there early so I went to Goofy’s Kitchen to grab a bite. I had a breakfast burrito and a cup of coffee and that was $20. Just crazy!
Today, I will play some Pickleball, helped Margot, Allen and Dorothy wash the Bocce balls in preparation for this weeks Mesquite Senior games and then watched the completion of the Masters. Some crazy golf, but was happy to see Rory complete his career grand slam, by winning the Masters.
Well enough for today.
